The converter is used to convert the RS232 physical layer to a more robust CAN physical layer.
It is only a physical layer converter and it is therefore necessary to implement the communication protocol into the superior system.
From the RS232 point of view, the connection is half-duplex and data flow control is required.
The converter can be used, for example, when communicating with LED lights, which contain a CAN to UART converter for LED driver control (e.g. TPS92662).
